The full frame CMOS sensor of the EOS-1Ds Mark III provides a massive 21 Megapixels of detail – exceeding the standard quality demanded by leading photo agencies. Images are processed at 14 bit colour depth for finer tonal gradations. Picture quality is assured by effective noise reduction at high sensitivities and a low pass filter that combats false colour and moiré. The sensor’s wide dynamic range can be set to preserve more detail from bright areas with the Highlight Tone Priority function.
